With several scripts in development Raconteur is widening
its reach into prime time television drama.
Raconteur’s short film “The Crossing”
was made with funding from the New Zealand Film Commission’s
Screen Innovation Fund.
The
Crossing
The Crossing is a dark drama that uses the beating of
a Somali refugee as a catalyst for a Pakeha males journey
through petty bigotry into dawning realisation. The atrocities
of ethnic cleansing are used in a discrete fashion to
enhance the films' motif. These subtle reminders correlate
with the Pakehas journey, thus illustrating the effects
of racism at both international, and individual levels.
